This is the incredible moment a son was reunited with his hero dad’s World War II medals he lost at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. William McMurdo, 65, was proudly wearing the five medals which belonged to his father, Thomas McMurdo, at the service in London but was left devastated after losing them in the large crowds. Navy veteran Cliff Palmer, 32, who lives in Bristol, launched an online appeal after finding the medals by chance during his first-ever visit to the Cenotaph. Cliff, who was in the Royal Navy for 10 years, posted a picture of the medals on his Facebook page and within hours it had been shared thousands of times. And now after the amazing campaign Cliff has tracked down William and the pair met for the first time at the Cenotaph in London today (MON). SEE MERCURY COPY
