Pic shows.. A patriotic pensioner could claim to be the most British man ever after a life lead serving as a Beefeater, the Queen’s bodyguard, fixing Spitfires and living in the TOWER OF LONDON. Geoffrey Abbott’s CV reads like a modern-day Biggles as he fought Nazis in World War II and battled the Soviets during the Cold War. After 35 years in the RAF he became a Beefeater and fitted the job so well his image was used on postcards and the official runner’s medal for the 1986 London Marathon. Teflon Geoffrey has survived being torpedoed – when the missile failed to explode hitting his boat – and he learnt to fly a helicopter AGED 77. As a Beefeater Geoffrey became an expert in execution techniques and had his opinion sought on the hanging of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. SEE COPY.
