A woman who was called A MESS by her ex-boyfriend has dropped more than a third of her bodyweight after taking up kickboxing to spite him. Kirsty Lund, from Widnes, Cheshire, weighed 15st 7lb when she took up kickboxing aged 21. She was the only woman in the gym when she started training but now weighs just 10 stone. She went on to quit her job as a bank cashier and now works full time as a Thai Boxing and fitness instructor. Now aged 29 she’s fitter and more toned than ever after slimming to just 10st.

The mystery woman known by her username “sugartit_2” uploaded a photograph of a mustard dress she wanted to sell. But online bidders browsing for new clothes were stunned when they zoomed in on the image which showed the seller standing in a black bra wearing no knickers. She was captured in the reflection of a mirror as she used a smartphone to photograph the size 10 dress which is worth £35 on ASOS. Plans to demolish almost 300 houses surrounding Ringo Starr’s birthplace have been slammed as “absurd and laughable”. Up to 280 homes will be demolished in Liverpool’s Welsh Streets area, as part of a proposal put forward by the city council and housing association Plus Dane Group. Just 16 houses on Madryn Street, where the Beatle was born, will avoid the wrecking ball along with another 16 on nearby Kelvin Grove. The demolition is billed as “making way for more than 150 affordable, high-quality” new homes. But it has angered objectors from the Welsh Streets Homes Group (WSHG). Fab Four fan Steve Bailey is owner of The Beatles Shop on Mathew Street, a popular haunt for the band and other “Merseybeat” groups. LFC fan dies in London during Carling Cup Weekend

A 26-year-old Liverpool FC fan was stabbed to death at a bar in London on the eve of the victorious Carling Cup final at Wembley The victim was identified as former Wirral Grammar student Alex Jarmay who lived in Bromborough, Merseyside, with his family. Police were called to Bar Uno in Camden at around midnight on Saturday and found the victim collapsed and fatally wounded outside the Inverness Street venue. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives said the incident was not football related but football fan Mr Jarmay is believed to have travelled to the capital to watch Liverpool play Cardiff City. Co-writer of famous sporting chant, “Na na na na…. Goodbye,” dies.

Paul Leka, co-writer of the song which spawned one of sport’s most famous chants, “Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)”, has died. The songwriter and producer, who penned the tune with Gary DeCarlo and Dale Frashuer, lost his battle with lung cancer at a hospice near his home in Sharon, Connecticut on 12 October, aged 68. The now infamous song was first due to be released as a B-side to a 1969 record by DeCarlo, under its original name “Kiss Him Goodbye”. But the “na na hey hey” was added to lengthen the piece from two minutes to four, as a means of ensuring radio DJ’s played DeCarlo’s A-side. Pensioner arson victim speaks of living hell next to evil neighbour

A frail pensioner who cheated death when her home was fire-bombed after a dispute with a neighbour over car parking has told of her horror ordeal. Semi-disabled Beryl Geen saw her home torched by her next-door-neighbour who has now started an 11-jail sentence for the crime. Beryl recounted how she had lived in fear, a prisoner in her own home, because of the vile threats and menaces issued by manic Suzanne Martin. Martin, had a long-standing dispute with her elderly neighbour over parking spaces outside their bungalow homes in Merseyside.
